Birsel Tavukcu Pirim joined the Finance department at Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University, in 2012. She has taught courses in Investments, Corporate Finance, Financial Institutions, Options and Futures, and Derivatives during her career, and currently teaches Advanced Investments to undergraduate and Derivatives II to graduate programs at OSU. Her primary area of research examines financial markets and the trading of securities commonly referred to as market microstructure research.

Senior Lecturer

Chad Zipfel is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance. Prior to becoming a full-time faculty member in August 2018, Chad was an adjunct professor. He joined Fisher with more than a decade of progressive finance leadership experience in the Corporate space. Most recently as Senior Director, he led the turnaround of The Oneida Group out of bankruptcy: rebuilding a new Finance organization, reducing inventory, enacting price increases, and refinancing the Company’s capital structure. Prior to that, Chad worked at L Brands and Procter & Gamble for close to 10 years, in various capacities and locations: ranging from Corporate Finance to Sales Teams Finance Leader to Plant Controller. Now part-time, he leads his own consulting practice, specializing in Finance and Strategy transformations at CPG companies.

 Professor of Finance
 Dean's Distinguished Chair in Finance

Karen Wruck is Dean’s Distinguished Professor and Professor of Finance at the Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University. Prior to her appointment at Ohio State, Wruck served on the faculty of the Harvard Business School. Her research and teaching are in the fields of financial and organizational economics, with special emphasis on corporate finance, restructuring, financial distress, governance, and management compensation. She has published numerous articles in leading academic journals and developed highly successful courses for delivery to MBAs and executives. In addition, her work and opinions have been highlighted in business periodicals. Professor Wruck has served as an associate editor of the Journal of Financial EconomicsJournal of Corporate FinanceJournal of Accounting and EconomicsJournal of Financial Research and European Financial Management and an ad hoc referee for many other academic journals. She has served as an academic director of the Financial Management Association and the Turnaround Management Association, a consultant to major corporations and has worked on a number of high-profile corporate litigation projects as a subject matter expert.

Photo of Matt SheridanMatt Sheridan

Senior Lecturer

Matt Sheridan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance. Prior to joining Fisher, Matt worked as a Financial Market Data Consultant at Bloomberg, LP’s headquarters in New York.  He consulted with hedge funds, banks, insurance companies, pension funds, and endowments to leverage market data to make informed and profitable investment decisions. Matt also has institutional investment experience, working as a Corporate Credit Analyst and Portfolio Manager at Cincinnati Financial.  Matt is a member of the CFA Institute and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

 Senior Lecturer

Tod Schneider is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance. Prior to joining Fisher, Tod worked as an Analyst at Diamond Hill Capital Management covering the retail industry. Additionally, Tod worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the audit practice serving both financial services and consumer clients.

Photo of George Pinteris George Pinteris

 Associate Professor-Clinical

George Pinteris, clinical assistant professor and academic director of the Specialized Master in Finance program, served since 2006 as academic director of Master of Science in Finance at the University of Illinois, where he advised 132 full-time students and implemented an innovative, team-based entry-term curriculum. He has taught courses in corporate finance at both the undergraduate and graduate level.
