Background

Tod Schneider is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance. Prior to joining Fisher, Tod worked as an Analyst at Diamond Hill Capital Management covering the retail industry. Additionally, Tod worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers in the audit practice serving both financial services and consumer clients.

Tod is a member of the CFA Institute and has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Tod is also a Certified Public Accountant (Inactive)

BUSFIN 4201 - Financial Data
How to use relevant accounting information for various applications in finance such as estimating stock and bond prices and free cash flows. Prereq: 3220 (620), AcctMIS 2200 (211), AcctMIS 2300 (212), BusMgt 2320 (330), and 2321 (331); and BusMHR 2291 or 2292 (BusAdm 499.01).
BUSFIN 6212 - Finance II
Covers capital budgeting, market efficiency, derivatives, interest rate parity. Prereq: Enrollment in MAcc program. Not open to students with credit for 811.
BUSFIN 7221 - Financial Modeling
Basic financial modeling techniques in EXCEL. Prereq: MBA 6223, or BusFin 6211, 6212, or 6220.
BUSFIN 6230 - Accounting & Finance for Analytics
Students will understand the fundamentals of accounting (managerial and financial) and finance. The course will cover defining financial data, transforming data into information and leveraging financial information to make financial decisions. Students will have hands-on experience with various types of real-world financial data and build a detailed discounted cash flow model. Prereq: Enrollment in SMB-Analytics program.
BUSFIN 7223 - Portfolio Management
Advanced investment strategies need for asset management and portfolio allocation. Prereq: MBA 6223. Prereq or concur: BusFin 7210, 7220, or 7230; or enrollment in SMB-Finance program.
MBA 6210.03 - Accounting for Decision Making
Focus on establishing a working knowledge of key accounting principles which in turn assists in sound financial decision-making. Prereq: Enrollment in Fisher College of Business, or permission of instructor.
MBA 6220.03 - Finance
Course focuses on the time value of money and its application in solving corporate finance (project budgeting) and asset valuation problems. The course will cover: the the time value of money, estimating cost of capital, estimating financial costs and benefits and making sound financial decisions. Prereq: Enrollment in Fisher College of Business, or permission of instructor.
BUSFIN 4202H - Honors Financial Data
This hands-on course covers the application of financial software tools and financial modeling. You will be exposed to real world applications used in corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, and asset management. Prereq: A CPHR of of 3.5 or above, and admission to the Finance Honors Program.
BUSFIN 4237 - Short Selling
In this course we will explore the art of short selling. Key course objectives include how to: - Explain the history and mechanics of short selling - Identify late cycle market dynamics - Research potential short sale candidates - Analyze and articulate the risks and benefits to potential short sale investments Prereq: 4211, and 4221.
