Background

Professor Doroodian received his Bachelor's and  Master’s Degrees from Shiraz University.  His Ph.D. is from the University of Oregon.  All three degrees are in Economics. His area of specialization is International Macroeconomics and Finance.

After graduation, he taught economic courses at Portland State University as an adjunct Professor for one year.  He then joined the Department of Economics of  Ohio University in 1982 and stayed on there through December 2022.   While at Ohio University, he taught courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. They included international economics and financial markets, international finance, mathematical economics, macroeconomics and business fluctuations, and managerial economics.  

He has published numerous scholarly articles in professional journals and has made numerous presentations at various professional conferences. While at OU, Professor Doroodian founded and served as Graduate Director of the Master of Financial Economics (MFE); a CFA based curriculum.  He also served  as the Graduate Director of MA in Economics.

Courses

BUSFIN 4255 - International Finance
The goal is to provide a framework for making financial decisions in an international context. The course is divided into three sections: 1) the international financial environment, 2) international investment analysis, and 3) international corporate finance. Students will be exposed to a broad range of topics, including some of the latest developments in global financial markets. Prereq: 4250. Prereq or concur: 4211 and 4221.
