Background

Jim received a Bachelor’s of Arts with honors in Economics from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctor from Duke University School of Law.  He was a long-time partner with, and now serves as Senior Counsel at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP.  He has been included in Best Lawyers in America for his work in Corporate Law and Land Use and Zoning Law.

Jim also teaches continuing education to commercial real estate brokers and sales agents and has twice won the “Commercial Instructor of the Year” award from ColumbusRealtors, in 2014 and 2020.  Among other community and civic activities, he served as Chairman of the Board of Zoning Adjustment of the City of Columbus for 21 years.

Jim enjoys discussing relevant legal concepts with future business leaders at Fisher College.

BUSFIN 3400 - Introduction to Real Estate
Examine the economics of property rights, the fundamental theories in urban economics, and selected applications. Prereq: Econ 2001.01 (200) or 2002.01 (201), and BusMhr 2292 (BusAdm 499.01). Not open to students with credit for 670.
