Our mission

The Center for Innovation Strategies inspires a growth mindset in organizations and students by

  • Acting as a catalyst and facilitator within the innovation ecosystem;
  • Providing quality instruction and enabling the co-creation and sharing of innovation knowledge, frameworks and tools, and;
  • Advancing innovation research and applied practice.

Defining Innovation
Innovation spans multiple disciplines and departments within companies and industries.
It is the practice of top-line growth and value creation through the development of new products and services, including new branded concepts, patents, and intellectual property.

  • Begins with target consumer’s articulated and unarticulated wants and needs
  • Employs multi-disciplinary collaboration
  • Incorporates networked, “open innovation” based partnerships
  • Combines strategic rigor and creative intuition in decision making

    Christina Strati's PhotoChristina Strati
    Christina Strati is a current third-year student at The Ohio State University pursuing a marketing major, with a general psychology minor. As a Media, Marketing, and Communication Scholar, she is interested in the psychological aspects of marketing, including consumer behavior. Christina holds the Vice President of Events position for The American Marketing Association (AMA), for which she organizes all social and professional events, like the AMA Career Fair. In addition to these involvements, she annually raises money for Nationwide Children’s Hospital by participating in Buckeyethon. Within CIS, she assists Jenny Heckscher in organizing events, seminars, and workshops with the goal of educating current Ohio State students, staff, and corporate partners about innovation and the entrepreneurial world.

    Eva Mazzola is a third-year student at The Ohio State University studying finance with a minor in Spanish. The importance of financial freedom and learning about one's personal budgeting drives her interest in the world of finance, investments, and problem solving related to consulting. As an International Affairs Scholar, she enjoys learning about travel and global issues through community involvement. Additionally, being involved within the Ohio State community has been one of her goals with on-campus jobs as a past Office Assistant for residential life helping and connecting with OSU residents and faculty. As a former OnRamp student innovation analyst, she enjoyed collaborating in the CIS program to build customer-focused solutions with evidence based concepts for partnering companies. Currently, Eva continued to work with CIS alongside Onramp coordinator Christan Lampasso, researching project opportunities, focusing on student involvement within the innovation process.
